Job Title: Personal Assistant for Young Adult with ASD
Location: South Shields
Job Type: Part-time
Hours: 10 hours in term time and 12 hours in holiday periods
Hourly Rate: From age-related national minimum wage to £12.15 per hour
Holidays: 5.6 weeks per annum
About the RoleWe are seeking a reliable and caring Personal Assistant to support a 17-year-old young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will provide close supervision and support to enable the individual to participate in activities, develop new hobbies, and achieve their potential.
The ideal candidate will have an awareness of the individual's complex sensory needs and be able to provide a safe and supportive environment. The role will involve taking the individual to activities, such as going for drives, visiting the beach, and watching online videos.
Responsibilities:
- Provide close supervision and support to the individual
- Assist the individual in developing new hobbies and interests
- Support the individual to participate in activities and achieve their potential
- Ensure the individual's safety and well-being at all times
Requirements:
- Permission to work in the UK
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Ability to provide close supervision and support
- Understanding of complex sensory needs
