Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement tailored Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student with ASD, setting specific, measurable goals.
  • Adapt curriculum materials to meet the individual needs of students with varying levels of ability.
  • Implement and monitor individualized behavior management plans.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents and caregivers, providing updates on progress and strategies to support learning at home.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of student progress and development.
  • Stay current with best practices in ASD education.
  • Maintain a positive environment within the classroom that encourages student growth.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with students with ASD in a secondary school setting.
  • A certification in special education, with a focus on ASD is preferred but not compulsory.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students with ASD.
  • Patient and empathetic to effectively support students.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
