About the Role

The Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled Manual Handling Specialist to join our Patient Safety and Risk Department. As a key member of the team, you will support the Senior Manual Handling Advisor in delivering manual handling training and providing expert advice on manual handling best practices.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver robust and industry-leading manual handling training to staff across the Trust, ensuring they are equipped to handle patients and inanimate loads safely and efficiently.

Collaborate with the Health and Safety team to establish and maintain manual handling standards, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.

Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and staff on manual handling issues, including patient handling and inanimate load handling.

Requirements

Relevant professional qualification, such as Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist, or nursing, with suitable experience in manual handling.

Postgraduate qualification in manual handling and teaching qualification (CTTLS) are desirable.

Substantial experience in delivering manual handling training to various audiences, preferably in an acute NHS setting.

Excellent written and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex information effectively.
