Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in various primary schools within the Chelmsford area.

Responsibilities
  • Individual Support: Provide one-to-one assistance to students with SEN, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaboration with Teachers: Work closely with teachers to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs), tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.
  • Classroom Management: Supervise students during class activities, ensuring they understand instructions and tasks.
  • Behaviour Management: Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour using positive reinforcement and behaviour management techniques.
  • Relationship Building: Develop effective relationships with teachers, parents, and other professionals, maintaining detailed records of student progress.
Requirements
  • Right to Work: Possess a valid right to work in the UK.
  • DBS Check: Hold a valid DBS check or be willing to apply for one.
  • SEN Experience: Have prior experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Adaptability: Demonstrate an understanding of different learning styles and the ability to adapt teaching methods where necessary.
  • Patient and Empathetic: Display patience and empathy when working with students.
Estimated Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum
