Lead Security Officer

Job Summary
The College of William & Mary is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Security Officer to join our team. As a key member of our security department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our faculty, students, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of our buildings and grounds to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
- Respond to emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, and suspicious activity.
- Develop and implement effective security protocols to prevent and respond to security incidents.
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment for our community.
- Provide training and guidance to security personnel to ensure they are equipped to handle a variety of security situations.
- Conduct investigations into security incidents and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local authorities, vendors, and other stakeholders to ensure a safe and secure environment for our community.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Certified security officer or ability to obtain within 12 months.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a higher education environment.
- Experience working in a security or law enforcement role.
