About the Role:
The successful candidate will report to the Compound Manager and Shift Supervisor, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the site on a day-to-day basis. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and supporting Multi Skilled Operatives (MSOs) in vehicle location and movement, adhering to company procedures.
- Guiding and assisting MSOs in conducting thorough checks to ensure vehicles meet quality standards.
- Serving as the primary point of contact and first line of support for the team, particularly in the absence of the Supervisor and Manager.
- Directing, supporting, and motivating the team to enhance performance.
- Assisting with operational requirements, including evaluating workflows and optimizing staff utilization to maximize efficiency.
The role operates outdoors in a large automotive compound facility, requiring moderate amounts of general walking throughout the working day.
About You:
- To be successful, you must be over 25 years old, possess a valid driver's license with fewer than 6 penalty points, and have no DR10 offenses for insurance purposes.
- You must be able to work the specified shift times, including a 2-shift rotation between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and occasional weekend coverage on a rota basis.
- The ideal candidate will be confident in their driving and have experience with automatic and manual vehicles.
- Knowledge and working experience within Automotive/Logistics/Distribution operations are essential.
- Experience with computer systems and data recording is also required.
