Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Psychological Therapist to join our team at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and appropriate professional registration.

The role involves providing assessment and psychological therapy to clients with complex mental health needs, including those with a history of trauma. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' post-qualification NHS experience working as a psychological therapist with adult clients.

The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with GPs, other clinicians, and external stakeholders, and have the ability to supervise, mentor, and support staff. Experience of providing teaching and training, as well as liaison with other health professionals, is desirable.

Main Duties

The main duties of the role include:

  • Providing assessment and psychological therapy to clients with complex mental health needs
  • Developing collaborative working practices with other local teams
  • Providing supervision and consultation to relevant adult mental health services
  • Working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the service's policies and procedures
