Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a background in customer service to join our team as a Healthcare Insurance Claims Specialist. In this vital role, you will streamline insurance processes, manage patient payments, and ensure accurate claims processing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Insurance Claim Management:
    • Submit and process insurance claims for patient services.
    • Follow up on pending claims and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
    • Work with insurance providers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.
  • Patient Payment Handling:
    • Handle patient payments, including copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses.
    • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and update patient accounts.
  • Insurance Verification:
    • Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service.
    • Communicate with insurance companies to confirm coverage and address any issues.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Update and maintain patient records in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
    • Prepare and manage necessary documentation for insurance purposes.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide excellent service to patients regarding their insurance questions and payment responsibilities.
    • Address patient inquiries and resolve billing or insurance-related issues.
    • Ensure clear communication between patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and insurance policies.
    • Generate and review reports related to billing, payments, and insurance claims.
    • Stay current with changes in insurance regulations and billing practices.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent educational levels.
  • Experience: Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in healthcare.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of insurance processes and payment handling, excellent organizational and multitasking skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
