Insurance Claims Specialist

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Insurance Claims Specialist to join our team at Unity Communications. As an Insurance Claims Specialist, you will play a critical role in helping us address account balances and correspondence from insurance carriers.
Key Responsibilities- Reconcile FACS balance to the client system
- Ensure proper crediting in FACS for payments posted
- Use online resources to obtain the status of payment or denial from the insurance carrier
- Input in FACS the outcome of the status check and decide the next step on the account based on outlined department and client-specific procedures
- Review correspondence note accounts and follow up as needed
- Verify that correspondence is sent to be scanned on the accounts for future reference
- Tie or untie accounts from the route to ensure they follow the proper workflow
- Use appropriate work queues and reports to prioritize work efforts as directed by the Insurance Followup Manager
- Maintain quality customer service
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with insurance company representatives
- Maintain confidentiality at all times by adhering to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to learn multiple databases
- Multitasking skills
- Organizational skills attention to detail and flexibility
- Ability to perform repeated tasks with a high level of accuracy
- Compliance with company and client-specific procedures for insurance followups
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and Red Flag regulations
