The Role

As a Fleet Engineering Delivery Manager, you'll lead a team of engineering line leaders, specialists, and industrial workers to achieve project goals and maintain operational performance. Your expertise will cover various engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, Nuclear, Combat Systems, Fabrication, and Welding.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring the highest standards of health and safety in your area of responsibility and promoting a positive safety culture within the team.
  • Effective management of engineering output to ensure technical solutions meet agreed technical scope and quality standards are achieved.
  • Promoting effective cooperation across engineering and other functional teams, working closely with the wider Fleet Engineering department and Babcock's Fleet Programmes management function.
  • Cultivating and maintaining stakeholder relationships, deploying effective communication and management skills.
  • Supporting the development of engineering capability to meet future programme demands.
  • Maintaining a knowledge of industry best practice, promoting a culture of engineering excellence, and providing leadership in driving cultural developments and change.

Please note that candidates must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience in managing multi-disciplined engineering teams on large-scale, complex projects within a high-regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of safety management within a high-risk, complex environment, ensuring compliance with company and customer procedures/policies, as well as applicable statutory industry standards.
  • Leadership, coaching, and mentoring with the ability to influence key stakeholders to ensure a positive safety culture and best practices.
  • Ability to identify and assess complex engineering work packages, planning, preparing, and delivering in line with agreed KPIs.
  • Excellent communication skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders, as well as HR management experience.

This is a full-time role, 37 hours per week, based at HMNB Clyde. The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level.
