Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Children's and Young People's (CYP) Mental Health sector, as part of the Mental Health Support Team in schools.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Delivering consultation to school staff in education settings
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating interventions for children and young people
  • Ensuring comprehensive risk assessment and risk management plans are in place
  • Developing and reviewing whole school mental health initiatives
  • Providing 1:1 brief interventions for mild to moderate mental health problems
  • Providing low-level interventions, including behavioural activation and CBT-informed worry and anxiety management
  • Evaluating the success of interventions using Routine Outcome Measures (ROMS)
  • Liaising with schools and other agencies for information gathering and sharing
  • Offering parent consultation, support, and advice, and parent-led CBT approaches
  • Informing local child protection coordinators and senior clinicians of concerns regarding protection issues
  • Supervising the clinical practice of Education Mental Health Practitioners
