Parent Infant Mental Health Specialist

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS FT is seeking a skilled Parent Infant Mental Health Practitioner to join our Wigan Building Attachment and Bonds Support service. Our team works with infants, parents, and carers from pregnancy to 3 years of age, providing a supportive and nurturing environment for families to thrive.
This exciting opportunity involves working 2 days per week on the Postgraduate Certificate in Psychological Therapies with Children and Young People: Working with 0-2s Pathway at the Psychological Therapies Training Centre at Prestwich Hospital. The remaining time will be spent providing a clinical service to families, incorporating Video Interaction Guidance (VIG).
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual who is committed to early intervention and parent/carer-infant relationships. If you have experience working with Social Workers, Nurses, Midwives, Health Visitors, Occupational Therapists, or Speech and Language Therapists, we encourage you to apply.
Main Duties
- Manage a caseload of families with complex mental health and social care needs.
- Offer specialist assessments, facilitate drop-ins, co-deliver groups, triage referrals, and provide parent & professional consultations.
- Ensure interventions are planned in an integrated and coordinated manner, particularly where dependent on other external agencies identified through supervision or complex case discussion.
- Provide reports and communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner concerning the assessment, formulation, and treatment plans of clients.
- Develop care packages, including assessing, planning, intervention, and evaluation, with active involvement of parents and infants.
- Use evidence-based practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
- Attend complex case discussions.
- Participate in clinical & managerial supervision.
