About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Acute and Community Directorate as our Head of Service. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join our team and make a significant contribution to the delivery of high-quality mental health care in Sheffield.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the performance and operation of the Acute and Community Directorate, working closely with other senior leaders to ensure alignment of priorities, supporting innovation and the delivery of high-quality care, efficiency, and effective resource management.

As a key member of the directorate leadership team, the post holder will hold core responsibility for the delivery of high-quality mental health care, working in partnership with local authorities and other system stakeholders to ensure safe and effective service delivery.

We are looking for a driven and passionate individual who is committed to continuous improvement and has a proven track record of leading successful teams and managing change within mental health services.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of managing multiple services within a mental health service, working with senior clinical professionals and leading multi-professional teams, and have a strong understanding of current NHS and social care policies and legislation related to mental health.

The post holder will be expected to demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to set clear targets, motivate staff, and delegate effectively, and will be supported in their role as part of our ambitious journey of improvement and transformation.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Acute and Community Directorate, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health care and effective resource management.
  • Work closely with other senior leaders to ensure alignment of priorities and support innovation.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to improve service delivery and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with local authorities and other system stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with current NHS and social care policies and legislation related to mental health.
