Main Responsibilities

As a Clinical Substance Use Specialist at One Recovery Bucks, you will play a crucial role in our holistic care strategy, working closely with a multidisciplinary team. Reporting to the Clinical Lead for Buckinghamshire, you will lend your expertise in prescribing and delivering high-quality care.

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, recovery workers, managers, and allied health professionals to ensure a multidisciplinary approach and promote safe, positive outcomes for service users.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of service users to establish appropriate treatment plans, including prescribing for opioid use disorders and managing alcohol detoxification and relapse prevention.
  • Prescribe and evaluate medications in accordance with best practice guidelines.
  • Provide health and wellness interventions, offering tailored guidance and support to meet individual needs.
  • Facilitate blood-borne virus screening and vaccinations, contributing to the overall health improvement of service users and communities.
  • Contribute to the review of serious incident investigations, providing insights and expertise to enhance learning and improve practices.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
  • Nursing or Pharmacist qualification and a registered practitioner with the NMC or GPC, or relevant allied health professional qualification registered with the appropriate professional body.

Experience

Essential

  • Experience working as an Independent NMP within a drug and alcohol service.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness at a senior level in a multi-disciplinary health and social care environment.
