We are seeking an experienced clinical psychologist to join our thriving Paediatric Psychological Therapies Service at St George's Hospital. As a key member of the Transformation Unit, you will contribute to service development and delivery, while fostering innovative approaches to psychological support.

About the Role

This Band 8b post offers an exciting opportunity to work with a large, friendly team consisting of clinical psychologists, mental health practitioners, assistant psychologists, trainees, and administrators. Our service provides comprehensive psychological support to both inpatient and outpatient populations, spanning various specialties.

As a senior professional, you will be responsible for representing psychology within multi-disciplinary care contexts, applying psychological principles in diverse cultural settings, and teaching/training junior colleagues. You will also have the opportunity to develop services, line manage more junior staff members, and provide aspects of staff support.

In this role, you will need to possess skills in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and management, as well as excellent communication and consultation abilities. Your expertise in providing support to carers and staff exposed to challenging situations is also essential.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience working as a qualified psychologist in paediatric settings, with a proven track record of representation, application, and education. Your ability to work in multicultural frameworks and communicate effectively with clients, carers, and other professionals is vital.

To succeed in this position, you must be able to develop and use complex multimedia materials for presentations in public, professional, and academic settings. A strong understanding of the latest research and policies in child mental health is also necessary.

Benefits and Requirements

This role comes with a competitive salary range of £70,387 - £80,465 per annum, inclusive of inner London HCAS. The successful candidate will also enjoy a unique and stimulating work environment, opportunities for research and policy contributions, and ongoing training and development.
