London, Greater London, United Kingdom Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job Opportunity:

This is an exciting chance to provide paediatric psychology services to patients at London North West University healthcare NHS Trust. The role involves implementing a new service to support parents and families with babies in the neonatal unit at Northwick Park Hospital, as well as continuing to provide established psychology support to the Paediatric Diabetes service at Ealing Hospital.

As a specialist in child/paediatric psychology, you will have significant post-qualification experience and some experience of working in paediatric diabetes and/or Neonatology would be highly desirable. You will work as an integrated member of the Neonatal team to provide psychological support to families, while also providing follow-up support once babies have been discharged from the unit.

The successful candidate may have contact with patients or service users. Vaccination is encouraged as it remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, colleagues, and patients/service users when working in our healthcare settings.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. To provide specialist psychological assessments of clients referred to the team based upon appropriate use, interpretation, and integration of complex data from various sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations, and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members, and others involved in the client's care.
  2. To formulate and implement plans for formal psychological treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy across the full range of care settings.
  3. To provide specialist psychological advice, guidance, and consultation to other professionals contributing directly to clients' formulation, diagnosis, and treatment plan.

Benefits:

The trust provides a comprehensive training program, opportunities for professional development, and regular supervision. As a specialist in this field, you will contribute to shaping our paediatric psychology services. We offer a competitive salary of £65,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience, along with a generous benefits package.

We are part of the Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust, which provides Paediatric Psychology services to four acute hospital trusts across the North West London region. There are regular opportunities to link with psychologists working across the trusts for CPD and peer support.
