About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Data Specialist to join our team at East Lancashire Alliance. The successful candidate will have experience in extracting clinical information from patient records, analyzing data, and assigning accurate codes using clinical coding systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To extract and analyze clinical data from patients' health records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to coding regulations.
  • To maintain high standards of quality in corporate and clinical record-keeping, ensuring timely updates and compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
  • To provide cover for absent colleagues, ensuring continuity of data coding and maintaining team efficiency.

Requirements:

  • A strong background in medical terminology, preferably with qualifications such as Medical Terminology certifications.
  • The ability to absorb complex training and knowledge bases, demonstrating a willingness to learn and adapt.
  • Familiarity with EMIS Web or System One, as well as read code hierarchy, note summarizing, scanning, and coding.
