Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Meat Sales Manager to lead our Butchery Department in Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop your own business and work closely with customers.

With strong skills and motivation, you will drive sales and profitability while maintaining high standards of stock management, food safety procedures, and meat displays. You will also lead and motivate a small team, creating staff rotas and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a business plan to drive sales and profitability
  • Build strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing expert advice
  • Maintain high standards of stock management, food safety procedures, and meat displays
  • Lead and motivate a small team, creating staff rotas and fostering a positive work environment
  • Cut meat to order, ensuring precision and quality
  • Manage stock levels effectively, including ordering and stocktaking
  • Maintain and clean tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Butcher, with excellent product knowledge of all meat proteins
  • Self-motivated and driven to succeed, with a passion for providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively manage a small team
  • Familiarity with food safety procedures and recommended guidelines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is £38,000 - £48,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including a Booker colleague card with 10% off purchases at Booker, a Tesco colleague discount card with 10% increasing to 15% off most purchases at Tesco, and more.
