The Deputy Head of Funding position has been created to support City & Capital's ambitious growth plans, aiming to double the size of their loan book to £6 billion over the coming years.
City & Capital supports property developers and investors with key property projects, offering a range of loans including bridging finance, development exit loans, commercial mortgages, and BTL propositions. They specialize in complex loans and can deliver on big ticket requirements, including loans of £50 million+.
The company operates a wholesale funding model, working with renowned corporate investors, offering a range of 'funding lines' that drive funding for their borrowers. The firm already operates a large and diverse funding panel, but this is growing and adapting all the time, in line with their ambitions to achieve planned growth.
The Deputy Head of Funding will work directly with the Head of Funding on all matters pertaining to the company's pursuit of, onboarding of, management of, and disposal of all corporate funding lines throughout their lifecycle with the business.
Key Responsibilities:- Supporting the identification of and engagement with new potential corporate funding partners and lines
- Leading the due diligence process for new corporate relationships and funding lines
- Overseeing the financial analyst team and their activity that supports the assessment and viability of new or existing funding lines
- Negotiating with and agreeing commercial terms with funding lines
- Agreeing appetite and policy with funding lines to drive internal product development and delivery
- Monitoring the performance of each funding line, undertaking regular reviews in line with contractual agreements and set objectives
- Acting as the key point of contact for all funding lines, owning and growing each relationship
- Achieving financial objectives
- Hold regular review and assessment meetings internally with the loan management and financial analysis team, as well as the key people driving each funding line
- Ensure that the lending business is committing to funding agreements, including working closely with the sales/underwriting and loan management functions to ensure loans are correctly underwritten and managed to redemption
- Overseeing all reporting on funding line performance to senior management
- Overseeing the process of 'exiting' funding lines, at the end of term, or wherever required
- Overseeing all risk and governance requirements that pertain to the lenders' corporate funding lines
As Deputy Head of Funding, you will inherit existing relationships to grow and nurture. You will be involved in discussions with new prospective funding lines, with other lines under review. The ideal individual for this role has worked for a wholesale funded lender before or has worked for a corporate entity or bank that funds lenders such as City & Capital.
A key skill for this role is the ability to take complex financial information and simplify it for the funding lines. An excellent understanding of funding ROI is beneficial. You must be an excellent communicator and comfortable dealing with major corporate organisations and managing a funding line panel in excess of £1 billion.
The company is ideally looking to pay between £120,000 - £150,000 as a basic salary for the ideal individual, relevant to experience. Higher offers would also be considered if the experience required is exact. Salary will be complemented by a bonus scheme that can help you to increase earnings significantly, year on year.
The company has successfully doubled the size of their loan book four times in the last four years. The growth outlined in this message is highly obtainable and as the loan book grows and swells, so will the team to support it.
