About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genetic Counsellor to join our team in the East Anglian Clinical Genetics Service. As a Genetic Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality genetic counselling services to patients and families affected by genetic disorders.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide genetic counselling services to patients and families, including assessing genetic risk and providing information on diagnosis, prognosis, and management options.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with genetic disorders.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical guidelines and policies related to genetic counselling.
Requirements
  • Current registration as a Genetic Counsellor with the Genetic Counselling Registration Board (GCRB) or current registration as a Genomic Counsellor with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant relevant experience in clinical genetics, including experience of initiating and delivering change, and experience of multidisciplinary team working.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
