Intertek CAPCIS is seeking a Corrosion Testing Specialist to conduct corrosion testing programs for the assessment of chemical corrosion inhibitors in oil and gas applications under sour service conditions.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Group Manager to execute and manage testing projects, supporting the technical operation of the CT laboratory and providing leadership in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct substrate and vessel preparation and testing of chemical samples submitted to the CT laboratory using standard electrochemical methodologies.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of laboratory activities to ensure optimal achievement of operational targets in a cost-effective manner.
  • Undertake project management responsibility for various projects, including preparing estimates and proposals in conjunction with senior staff.
  • Analyze and interpret data, including electrochemical and metallographic test data, and prepare client reports.
  • Perform fabrication of in-house designed weld electrodes and safe handling of hazardous and non-hazardous bottled gases.
  • Prepare samples for examination and maintain continuing contact with client staff.
