About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Corrosion Testing Engineer to join our team at Intertek CAPCIS. As a key member of our laboratory, you will be responsible for carrying out corrosion testing programs for the assessment of chemical corrosion inhibitors used in oil and gas applications under sour service conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct substrate and vessel preparation and testing of chemical samples submitted to the laboratory.
  • Assist in the planning and coordination of laboratory activities to ensure optimal achievement of operational targets.
  • Undertake project management responsibility for a variety of projects, including preparing estimates and proposals.
  • Carry out laboratory work to implement corrosion inhibitor testing experiments.
  • Analyze and interpret data, including electrochemical and metallographic test data.
  • Produce clear and concise technical reports and answer client queries.

About the Opportunity

This is a hands-on role that includes working with hazardous materials and operating laboratory equipment. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to Intertek's safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in the physical sciences, chemistry, or materials science.
  • Minimum of two years industrial experience preferably in a materials testing environment.
  • Experience or knowledge of electrochemistry is an advantage.
  • Good organization and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with colleagues at all levels.
