Job Overview

Transformation Unit is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Psychologist to join our team. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities and their families.

This is a fixed-term contract until 31st March 2025, with the potential to extend. We are committed to providing a supportive and collaborative work environment, and we offer regular clinical and professional supervision, as well as opportunities for continuing professional development.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Support children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities and their families
  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver a flexible service according to need and personal circumstances
  • Provide clinical supervision and line management to other members of the team as appropriate
  • Participate in service quality monitoring and contribute to the development of the service
Person Specification
  • Upper second-class honours degree or higher in psychology
  • Entitlement to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society
  • Further postgraduate training in relevant areas of professional psychology, mental health practice, and/or research design and analysis
  • High standard of report writing
  • Practical computing skills, including the use of databases and spreadsheets
Personal Qualities
  • Ability to work effectively with staff from all disciplines
  • Ability to interact with children who have a learning disability and/or an Autism Spectrum Disorder and their families
  • Ability to accept and use supervision appropriately and effectively
  • Ability to work as part of a 'virtual team'
  • Ability to travel around the county and outside base frequently
