Job Description

East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of Digital Healthcare Systems Manager.

About the Role

This position requires a strong background in healthcare IT systems, with experience in managing complex upgrades and ensuring compliance with data protection/governance issues.

The successful candidate will lead the provision of high-quality support and advisory services for system operation, upgrades, and continuous improvements. They will also direct the development of all systems in the portfolio, providing senior-level input into change requests and prioritization processes.

Key responsibilities include reviewing and developing working practices, policies, and procedures for teams, as well as planning, coordinating, and managing the delivery of high-quality end-user application support.

The ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of clinical systems, understand where data flows, and interacts with local, regional, and national systems. They will be responsible for managing and motivating staff within the Applications teams, providing direction and leadership, staff appraisals, addressing welfare issues, advising on personal development, training, and coaching.

Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare IT systems (both medical records and administrative systems)
  • Leadership skills in a large team environment
  • Ability to understand risk and data protection/governance issues

The estimated salary for this role is £65,000-£80,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
