Teaching Personnel is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Special Needs Learning Support Assistant, providing support to students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) in a specialist learning environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, empathy, and a passion for supporting children and young people with additional needs. They will be required to develop positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting equality, diversity, and respect within the school community.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £22,500-£25,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with MLD, SLD, and ASC, enabling them to access the curriculum and achieve their educational goals.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to create personalized learning plans, promoting inclusive practices and maximizing student outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment, adapting strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents, promoting open communication and mutual respect.

Requirements:

  • A Level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated passion and commitment to supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, embracing new challenges and opportunities for growth.
  • Capacity to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations, prioritizing student well-being and safety.
