**Job Title:** Special Education Support Professional

Salary: £90,000 - £100,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Location: UK-Hertfordshire, St Albans

This role is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our specialist team as a Learning Support Assistant. As part of our accredited team, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with their learning, development, and progress in all areas of the curriculum.

About Us:

We are a well-resourced school providing a highly specialist learning environment for students aged 3 to 19 who have a range of MLD and SLD needs, including autism spectrum disorders, ADHD, and associated difficulties.

Your Role:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Students with Complex Needs: Helping young people with complex medical conditions, autism, and other special educational needs to achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • Fostering Equality and Respect: Creating an environment that promotes equality, diversity, and the rights of all young people to be seen as learners and treated with respect.
  • Empowering Young People: Placing an emphasis on support and empowerment of young people, helping them to develop their skills and confidence.
  • Participating in Training and Development: Willingness to work towards getting formal qualifications, attend training, and take responsibility for your own development.
  • Working as Part of a Team: Capable of working supportively as a team member and confidentially when working independently within a range of settings.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Educational Qualifications: Educated to at least level 2 Maths and English.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, particularly in relation to our students' communication needs.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Creative thinkers with a solution-focused approach.
  • Compassion and Empathy: Passionate and show compassion for children and young people with additional needs.
