Care Support Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join Durham County Council as a Home Care Support Assistant. This role will give you the chance to work in social care and contribute to a vital community service in your local area.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to provide care and support to service users within Harbour Lodge Extra Care Scheme, Seaham. As a Home Care Support Assistant, you will be part of a team working together to deliver high-quality care services.
Key Responsibilities- Providing personal care and support to service users
- Working as part of a team to deliver care services
- Following a rota of shifts, including early, late, and night duties
- Collaborating with senior team members and supervisors to ensure excellent care standards
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- No previous experience required, but a willingness to undertake personal care
- NVQ Level 2 in Care or a willingness to achieve within a set timescale
- Able to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, including:
- Competitive salaries (£18,000 - £22,000 per annum)
- 27 days holiday per year rising to 32 days after five years continuous local government service
- Option to purchase up to 10 additional days annual leave per year
