**Job Title:** SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Residential School for Children with Autism.

About the Role:

We will play a vital role in supporting children with their learning and overall well-being, ensuring each child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a safe and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establishing a warm, caring, and supportive relationship with pupils, helping them feel safe and motivated to learn.
  • Encouraging independence and personal development while maintaining high standards of behaviour.
  • Assisting the class teacher in delivering high-quality, challenging, and differentiated educational activities through a broad and balanced curriculum.
  • Supporting offsite learning activities, including topic trips, forest school, sports, and swimming lessons, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in various duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience working with SEN in either an employed or voluntary setting.
  • Full UK driving license and access to your own car are desirable.
  • Recognized qualification at Level 2 or above in Support Work for Teaching and Learning in Schools, or an equivalent, is desirable.
  • GCSE Maths and English at Level 2/C or above is essential.
  • Understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
  • Knowledge or experience of working with pupils with SEN, SEMH, or ASD.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible.
  • Commitment to putting the child first and treating them as an individual.
  • Positive and creative approach in meeting pupils' individual needs.
