About the Role

The Logistics Operations Manager will oversee the physical logistics operations across both Retail and International sectors, ensuring that inventory is readily available and that demand is met within specified timelines. This role involves managing a team of 4 Warehouse Supervisors who are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the distribution center.

Currently, the Retail and International logistics operations function independently, covering over 100,000 square feet with a workforce of 30 operatives. The Logistics Operations Manager is expected to adopt a comprehensive approach to streamline operations across the entire distribution center.

This position is ideal for an experienced Shift Manager looking to advance into a senior management role.

Salary: Approximately £40,000, negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the flow of inventory through both Retail and International warehouses.
  • Lead and develop a team of 4 Warehouse Supervisors, ensuring they meet performance targets.
  • Implement efficient processes to maximize synergies across the distribution center.
  • Manage staffing levels and allocate additional resources as necessary.
  • Ensure all operational functions meet established KPIs and SLAs.
  • Maintain health and safety standards within the logistics operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance site efficiency and service quality.
  • Keep accurate productivity records to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including HMRC and AEO regulations.
  • Manage operational costs within budget and take responsibility for financial performance.
  • Coordinate outbound shipments to meet customer specifications.
  • Provide support to other departments within the distribution center as needed.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a distribution center management role.
  • Extensive background in a Retail distribution center environment.
  • Experience collaborating with both domestic and international clients.
  • Proven ability to develop teams and individuals to reach their full potential.
  • Demonstrated success in enhancing operational efficiencies and process improvements.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
