About the Role

The Fulfilment Manager will have responsibility for leading the physical operations in both the Retail and International areas to ensure stock is made available to the business in a timely manner and that demand for this stock is fulfilled within the required timelines. To facilitate this, the Fulfilment Manager will be responsible for a team of 4 Warehouse Supervisors who oversee the DC operatives.

The Retail and International physical operations are managed as separate entities spanning in excess of 100,000sqft with 30 operatives. However, to best exploit synergies within the operation, it is expected that the Fulfilment Manager will take a holistic view of physical operations within the whole DC.

This position would be ideal for a Shift Manager looking to step up into a senior management role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Stock Flow Management: Manage the overall flow of stock through both Retail and International warehouses.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the team of 4 Warehouse Supervisors, ensuring that they are targeted and developed as necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Implement processes and ways of working such that synergies can be leveraged across the whole DC and silo working is removed.
  • Resource Management: Manage required headcount, with the provision of additional resource as required.
  • DC Operations: Controlling DC functions to ensure that all KPI's and SLA's are met.
  • Health and Safety: Maintaining the required Health and Safety standards within the operation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Deliver a process of continuous improvement by leading and driving change to increase site efficiencies and deliver best service to the business.
  • Productivity Monitoring: Maintain clear productivity records to both monitor UPH and help drive improvements.
  • Compliance: Ensure all physical DC operations are undertaken in line with audited processes to ensure compliance with HMRC and AEO regulations, as well as in line with the conditions of the DC customs bond.
  • Cost Management: Manage costs and expenditure within agreed budgets and take full accountability for operational costs associated with the physical operations.
  • Customer Service: Present outbound shipments in line with specified customer requirements.
  • Interdepartmental Support: Support other DC departments as required.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years' experience at DC department manager level.
  • Operational Expertise: Extensive experience of operating in a Retail DC environment.
  • International Experience: Experience of working with both UK and overseas customers.
  • Leadership Skills: Demonstrable ability to develop teams and individuals to maximise their full potential.
  • Operational Efficiency: Proven track record in developing operational efficiencies and process improvements within a warehouse environment.
  • People Management: Strong people management skills.
