Community Nurse Specialist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and dedicated nurse to join our Community Team for People with a Learning Disability in Hywel Dda University Health Board. As a Community Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adults and young people with a learning disability, in partnership with them and their families.
Main ResponsibilitiesYou will work proactively and creatively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide specialist advice, support, and training to colleagues, families, and carers. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own clinical competency profile and skills in specialist areas, with regular supervision, professional development, and access to peer nursing support.

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a registered nurse with a good understanding of current policy and practice in relation to people with learning disabilities. Essential qualifications include a current NMC registration, and desirable qualifications include a teaching qualification or equivalent, or recent experience in the provision of training to health staff. Experience of working with adults with a learning disability is also essential, and experience working with community LD teams and primary care services is desirable.
