Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Subsea Engineering Manager to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our Subsea Team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of subsea engineers, ensuring the successful installation, operation, maintenance, and recovery of subsea cables across the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage and lead a team of subsea engineers, evaluating their performance and providing coaching and development opportunities to ensure they meet established expectations.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the subsea team, ensuring that all tasks are completed to the highest standard and that the team is working efficiently and effectively.
  • Project Management: Manage and coordinate subsea projects, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Ensure that the subsea team is working in a safe and healthy environment, and that all HSE procedures and protocols are followed.
  • Performance Management: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the subsea team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to ensure that the team is meeting its objectives.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including team members, customers, and senior management, to ensure that everyone is informed and aligned with the team's objectives and progress.
Requirements
  • Leadership Experience: Proven experience of leading and managing a team of engineers, with a track record of delivering results and improving team performance.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of subsea engineering, including cable installation, operation, maintenance, and recovery.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Business Acumen: Strong business acumen, with the ability to understand and interpret business data and make informed decisions.
