Job Details

Job Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. The successful candidate will provide support to our primary school teachers in the classroom, assisting with the delivery of lessons and promoting the inclusion of all pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the class teacher to support the teaching and learning activities in the classroom.
  • Provide general support to the class teacher in the organisation and management of pupils and the classroom.
  • Assist the teacher in creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils, ensuring they have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience of working in a primary school setting, preferably in Early Years or Key Stage 1.
  • Experience of general clerical and administrative work.
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Child Care/Education.
  • Ability to work positively as part of a team.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults.
  • Good standard of spoken and written English.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Ability to observe, monitor and provide constructive feedback on pupils' progress.
  • Able to use basic ICT including computer, audio, video equipment and photocopier.
  • Good keyboard skills and knowledge of relevant ICT packages.
  • Understanding of how to extend children's learning through the use of open-ended questions.
  • Knowledge of relevant policies and codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation.
  • Willingness to undergo training and development.
