Role Overview:

A progressive secondary school in Enfield is seeking an experienced Support Specialist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and a strong ability to adapt to individual learning needs.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, the SENCo, and other team members to deliver tailored support plans for students with various SEN. This may involve adapting lessons and learning activities, assisting students with conditions such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, and other learning barriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver 1:1 and small group support for students with various SEN, adapting your approach to meet individual learning needs
  • Assist students with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning barriers, encouraging them to engage and participate in lessons
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and SENCo to implement customised support plans
  • Foster social and emotional skills in students, promoting independence and self-confidence
  • Help maintain a positive classroom atmosphere, ensuring a safe and inclusive space for all learners
  • Record and report student progress, offering insights to the SEN team to adjust learning strategies when needed

Job Requirements:
  • Experience supporting young people with SEN in an educational or similar setting
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with a positive and patient approach to working with students
  • Ability to collaborate with a team and adapt to individual student needs
  • A proactive and empathetic attitude to helping students overcome their challenges

Additional Information:
The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a competitive daily rate of £95-£110, term time only. Based in Enfield, London, the successful candidate will have access to a range of resources and facilities to enhance learning for students with SEN.
