Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at North Star Shipping. As a key member of our technical department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our vessels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Asset Management: Oversee the maintenance and repair of all electrical systems on board our vessels, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of senior officers to achieve high standards of safety, vessel, and crew performance management.
  • Budget Management: Operate assigned vessels within budget parameters, monitoring and controlling costs to ensure financial targets are met.
  • Supply Chain Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to source and purchase vessel spares, engine room stores, and contract services, maintaining spend within budget parameters.
  • Port Operations: Ensure smooth and safe port calls, coordinating with contractors and stakeholders to achieve timely and efficient vessel turnaround.
  • Performance Monitoring: Regularly review and analyze vessel performance data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Liaise with classification, port state, and flag state representatives to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSEQ): Promote and implement company HSEQ policies, ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Sea-going Chief Engineer or equivalent, with relevant offshore support experience.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with strong leadership and communication skills.
