Job Summary

Role Purpose:

The Scottish Borders Learning Disability Service has a vacancy for a full-time social worker to join our well-established, integrated social care and health team. This offers an excellent opportunity to work alongside colleagues from nursing, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, physiotherapy, dietetics, speech and language therapy, and music therapy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide assessment and care management services to clients in collaboration with other professionals
  • Participate in our duty service and contribute to the development of the service

Requirements:

  1. Professional social work qualification
  2. Current driving license and use of a vehicle (with reasonable adjustments considered for candidates with disabilities)

Work Environment:

The role is based at Scottish Borders Council Headquarters in Newtown St Boswells, offering a flexible working policy and potential for hybrid working to meet the needs of the service. We commit to regular supervision and individual development opportunities, as well as Continuous Professional Development.

Salary and Location:

We offer a competitive salary of approximately £41,950.13 per year, reflecting the demands of this role. The location allows for a balance of rural and urban environments, with easy access to Edinburgh and the Lothians.
