**_Applicants must have minimum of 1 years’ experience _**of providing person centred support to people with learning disabilities and/or Autism, and be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities and skills**:

- A commitment to empowering people and working closely with their family
- Self-direction and the ability to take responsibility
- Ability to remain calm in difficult situations
- A positive and compassionate nature
- Able to work flexibly, including weekends
- Able to consider being part of the on-call system on set weekends (roughly one in four weekends)

**We understand that everyone is different and so our Lead Support Workers can choose a role type that most closely fits their needs. If you enjoy working with a range of people and the variety that brings, then you can choose the ‘On-Call Lead Support Worker’ option. If you prefer to focus on one service, then the ‘Lead Support Worker’ option could be best for you. Whatever your requirements, give us a call and we’re sure we’ll be able to find your ideal role.**

As Lead Support Worker you will be assisting the Locality Manager by working on shift providing day to day support to the staff team. The role will include assisting the staff to deliver excellent person-centred support via supervisions, positive role modelling, team meetings, observations and their own consistent support on a 1:1 basis.

The Lead Support Worker will be part of the team supporting a young man with autism and a partial visual impairment is in his own home in St Albans.

He enjoys spending time out and about in the community, going to the park, and meeting new people. He is a train enthusiast and loves going to train stations to look at the trains, especially riding on a bus to get there, He also likes trips to the cinema. He is looking for staff to join his team who are calm, fun and willing to help him learn new skills and to encourage his independence.

Applicants must be comfortable in using public transport on a regular basis.
