Job Overview:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Strategic Initiatives Manager to join our UK Strategy and Technology team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our Capability and Innovation Director and other senior leaders to deliver our strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a network of trusted relationships across the company, including senior leaders and external partners, to gather and analyze strategic capability development information.
  • Facilitate meetings chaired by the Director, ensuring agendas are well-prepared and actions are completed in a timely manner.
  • Prepare briefs for engagements, extracting key information and presenting it in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop and deliver presentations, including speeches, tailored to specific audiences and the Director's style.
  • Support the communications team with speech writing, ensuring content is engaging and effective.
  • Review requests into the Director's office, providing summaries and recommendations to ensure efficient response.
  • Manage communication flow into and out of the Director's office, including tracking and amplifying key messages.
  • Monitor and deliver actions set by the Director, ensuring timely completion and high standards.
  • Provide on-site support for exhibitions and conferences attended by the Director.
  • Stay informed about business activity across the company and the global defense industry.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strategic problem-solving skills, with a proactive and initiative-driven approach.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Understanding of business agreements and critical terms.
  • Recent experience working with MOD and UK Government stakeholders on capability development.
  • Ability to support the Director's working patterns and maintain a DV clearance.
