About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Alstom UK&I. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and support to ensure the delivery of EHS excellence across multiple projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in EHS management, with experience of working in a similar role within the rail industry. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to improve EHS standards, providing input to EHS policy, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure EHS issues are recognised and addressed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and support to the team on EHS matters
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve EHS standards
  • Provide input to EHS policy and ensure it is communicated and understood by the site/project
  • Communicate and monitor progress against EHS objectives
  • Keep abreast of and communicate new changes to UK Regulatory and industry EHS requirements
  • Communicate widely and effectively within the company to ensure EHS issues and responsibilities are recognised and addressed by Line managers
Requirements
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or working towards) / NEBOSH General/Construction Certificate
  • IEMA Certificate or equivalent
  • Internal Quality Auditor
  • Good knowledge of Construction and CDM Regulations
  • Experience of working with ISO14001, ISO45001
  • Working knowledge of Railway specific standards
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety legislation
