Community Violence Prevention Specialist

Birmingham and Solihull Women's Aid is a leading charity providing vital support to women and children affected by domestic abuse. We are currently seeking a dedicated professional to deliver holistic support services to women in the community.
About the Role
This Community Violence Prevention Specialist role will involve working with women who have experienced domestic abuse, providing them with practical and emotional support to increase their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and a commitment to empowering women to regain control over their lives.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Delivering tailored support services to women affected by domestic abuse
- Working collaboratively with other teams and stakeholders to ensure effective service delivery
- Contributing to the development of new initiatives to support women and children affected by domestic abuse
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple cases simultaneously. They will also be expected to maintain accurate records and participate in regular team meetings to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong understanding of domestic abuse and its impact on women and children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A non-judgmental approach and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Experience working with vulnerable populations, preferably in a social care or advocacy setting
The salary for this role is £28,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus benefits including a generous annual leave allowance, pension scheme, and opportunities for professional development and training.
