Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a prestigious mainstream secondary school in Kingston upon Thames. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with learning difficulties or disabilities, both in and out of the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to students with learning difficulties or disabilities, promoting their academic progress and well-being.
- Assist the class teacher in implementing lesson plans and educational activities, ensuring a smooth and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students overcome barriers to learning, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere within the classroom.
- Support students with their academic progress, including homework, assignments, and exam preparation, helping them to achieve their full potential.
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists and speech therapists, to ensure the best support for students.
Requirements:
- Previous child-based experience, with a strong desire to support students in their academic and personal growth.
- Possession of an enhanced DBS on the update service, ensuring a safe and secure environment for students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach, with a genuine passion for working with young people.
