Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our team in Essex County Council, supporting Community Mental Health Transformation in North East Essex.

About the Role

This role involves working with the Senior Social Worker in the Multi Professional Single Point of Access Team. You will be responsible for building strong social work practice within Primary Care Mental Health and ensuring the principles of the Care Act are central to conversations with adults.

You will focus on providing an enhanced social care, enabling intervention early to prevent, reduce and delay the onset of people's needs. This includes working with individuals and families focusing on their strengths, interests and assets, as well as supporting the understanding and knowledge of the role of social work within mental health and the social determinants of health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Balancing direct work to support people's mental wellbeing alongside assessment/review for eligibility for commissioned services.
  • Working Monday-Friday with flexibility to meet the demands of the service.

You will bring experience in working within mental health and delivering direct work. Additionally, you will have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance, as well as experience of chairing meetings and developing strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.

Requirements
  • A driving licence and car or alternative means of mobility for travelling around Essex.
  • Experience within a social care setting with evidence of challenging social and family situations.
  • The ability to pro-actively influence in planning, decision making and case discussions.

Estimated Salary: £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
