About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Specialist Social Worker to join our team at Essex County Council. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified social worker to work with vulnerable adults and provide support to help them live healthily and independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess complex social care needs and develop support plans that enable individuals to manage their mental wellbeing.
  • Work closely with healthcare professionals, families, and carers to provide a comprehensive service that meets the needs of each individual.
  • Provide direct work skills to improve a person's mental wellbeing, including utilising therapeutic relationships and self-help options.
  • Link in with local communities and services to understand the demographic and provide targeted support.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience of working within mental health and delivering direct work, with evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community.
