About the Role

As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with Adults with Learning Disabilities, providing specialist assessment and intervention services. Your skills and expertise will enable you to provide high-quality care to individuals with complex needs. With a focus on collaboration and teamwork, this is an ideal opportunity for Newly Qualified SLTs or experienced therapists looking to progress their careers.

Main Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to assess and treat Adults with Learning Disabilities who have communication needs and those who have dysphagia needs. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each individual. In addition to clinical responsibilities, you will also contribute to the development of the service, participating in quality improvement initiatives and sharing best practices with colleagues.

Key Requirements

Essential qualifications include a Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, State registration with HCPC, and evidence of continued professional development. Desirable qualifications include Postgraduate training in Learning Disabilities, mental health/challenging behaviour, and physical/sensory disabilities, accredited dysphagia training, or willingness to undertake. In terms of experience, we require a range of clinical experience and ability to demonstrate application of clinical skills, specialist knowledge and application of speech and language therapy assessments and interventions. Car driver essential, or access to a car (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010 which prevents you from driving).

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on experience. This competitive salary reflects the importance of the role within our multidisciplinary team.
