About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated midwife to take on a leadership role in fetal monitoring. You will be responsible for ensuring that all midwives and obstetricians providing antenatal care are competent in assessing fetal wellbeing. You will also provide teaching and support for staff who need to repeat the competency test.
As a Fetal Monitoring Specialist Midwife, you will lead weekly CTG workshops, maintaining attendance registers to ensure compliance for midwives and medical staff. You will also disseminate learning which emerges from workshops and take a lead role with the Delivery Suite Obstetric Consultant in developing an audit form for reviewing emergency births, instrumental and caesarean sections.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure that all midwives and obstetricians providing antenatal care are competent in assessing fetal wellbeing.
- Provide teaching and support for staff who need to repeat the competency test.
- Lead weekly CTG workshops and maintain attendance registers.
- Disseminate learning which emerges from workshops.
- Develop an audit form for reviewing emergency births, instrumental and caesarean sections.
We are looking for a midwife with relevant experience as a Band 6 or 7, audit and risk management experience, and previous experience in managing/leading change in practice. You should also have a broad understanding of CTG interpretation and multidisciplinary training and education.
A Registered Midwife with a BSc or Degree in Midwifery, ENB 997 or equivalent/mentorship qualification, and fetal monitoring masterclass attendance are essential qualifications for this role.
