Postdoctoral Researcher - Bayesian Machine Learning

The International Society for Bayesian Analysis seeks a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team in Cambridge, UK. As a member of our Quantitative Biology group, you will develop and apply cutting-edge Bayesian machine learning models to predict drug toxicity.

This is a 3-year programme with a competitive salary offered. The first 2 years are on a Fixed Term Contract, with a possible 1-year extension based on performance. You will have access to comprehensive training and be encouraged to pursue independent research under the guidance of a leading academic advisor.

Requirements:

  1. PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
  2. Expertise in R or Python (preferably both)
  3. Strong knowledge of Bayesian statistics
  4. Familiarity with modern Bayesian software such as Stan and PyMC3
  5. Interest in life sciences

The role involves developing Bayesian models to account for uncertainty in inputs and predicting toxicity in liver, heart, and other organs. This includes identifying causal relationships and mechanisms.
