Job Description

At DPDgroup, we are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Fleet Ambassador. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring that all vehicles within our fleet meet stringent safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct daily checks on all fleet vehicles, including rental vehicles, to verify their condition and road worthiness, and record the findings via the Vehicle App.
  2. Ensure that all 3.5-tonne vans do not exceed the maximum weight limit, utilizing the weighbridge for accurate measurements.
  3. Identify and report any vehicles that are off-road due to damage or defects, following established procedures.
  4. Verify the condition of associated vehicle equipment, including material handling equipment, jump packs, fuel pumps, and enclosures.
  5. Maintain a safe and organized depot environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and ensuring clear traffic flow and parking arrangements.
  6. Ensure that all drivers are equipped with the correct DPD Uniform and that vehicles are kept clean and in excellent condition at all times.

Weekly Checks

  1. Process 21-day notices for damaged Owner Driver vehicles via the app, and maintain a shared Google Calendar with the Transport Team to record all notices.
  2. Review outstanding 21-day notice letters with the Depot Quality Manager or Depot Manager.
  3. Conduct weekly checks on the HGV fleet, addressing any discrepancies and downloading relevant information.
  4. Inspect Fleet Stock and reorder items as necessary to maintain optimal levels.
  5. Ensure the gritter is in full working order and clean during the winter period, reporting any defects to the Regional Transport Engineer.

  5. Self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
