Job Summary:

Innovate Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead customer-funded and internal development/production programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, preferably in engineering development, and excellent communication skills to coordinate with various departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Management: Manage customer-funded and internal development/production programs from initiation to closure, ensuring timely delivery and budget control.
  • Bid Preparation and Execution: Assist with bid/scoping phases and oversee the entire project lifecycle, including coordinating with Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance departments.
  • Resource Management: Manage schedules and resources to ensure on-time project delivery, directly liaising with customers to fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with export regulations for delivered equipment.
  • Reporting and Governance: Report on project progress, risks, and financial status to senior leadership, supporting governance, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
  • Subcontractor Management: Oversee subcontractors to ensure they meet contractual obligations, acting as the main point of contact for project status and performance updates.
  • Estimation and Scheduling: Estimate project costs and prepare schedules for bids, facilitating communication across project teams, stakeholders, and other departments.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor progress against project plans and control budgets to avoid overruns, taking corrective action to stay on track with project timelines and financial targets.
  • Test and Delivery Coordination: Organize Factory Acceptance Tests for deliverables, coordinate equipment dispatch, delivery, and commissioning as required.
  • Travel and Meetings: Travel within the UK and overseas when necessary, attending production and procurement meetings to ensure timely output.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HND or degree in project management or relevant experience, APM qualification is advantageous.
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in engineering development, with experience managing projects from initiation to closure, budget management, and forecasting.
  • Desirable Skills: Software development project management experience is highly desirable.
