At OXFORD HEALTH NHS FOUNDATION TRUST, we are committed to providing exceptional care and services to our patients. We are currently seeking a skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in the Getting More Help South CAMHS service.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to lead and develop our multidisciplinary team in Oxfordshire. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for managing your caseload, supporting and developing evidence-based practice within the team, and leading the team to deliver high-quality care to our patients.

We estimate that this role offers a salary of around £104, 477 per annum, based on the Trust's consultant pay scale and the location of the role.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assess new cases and manage your case load working with other clinicians in the team.
  • Support and develop evidence-based practice and evaluation within the team.
  • Support team members with cases through consultation and joint working.
  • Lead and develop the team within a trust committed to compassionate leadership.
  • Liaise effectively with other services and agencies (education and social care).
  • Manage mental health crises including use of the mental health act where appropriate.
  • Support and enable appropriate admission and discharge of patients from inpatient units.
  • Work with colleagues in the acute hospitals.

General Duties:

  • Manage, appraise and give professional supervision to junior medical staff.
  • Ensure junior medical staff operate within the parameters of the New Deal and are Working Time Directive compliant.
  • Undertake administrative duties associated with patient care.
  • Record clinical activity accurately and comprehensively.
  • Participate in service and business planning activity.
  • Attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust.
  • Maintain professional registration and abide by professional codes of conduct.
  • Participate in job plan review and ensure the efficient running of services.
