About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Carer Lead Specialist in our North Cumbria Locality. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a new and transformative service, which aims to revolutionize the way mental health care is provided locally.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working directly with carers and families using a 'Think Family Approach', facilitating positive change and developing cultural change in the wider community. They will also advocate for carers within the multidisciplinary team, supporting the team to maintain and enhance their skills around carer involvement.

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental health issues. We welcome applications from individuals with personal lived experience of mental health issues or caring for someone who has experienced mental health issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work directly with carers and families using a 'Think Family Approach'
  • Advocate for carers within the multidisciplinary team
  • Support the team to maintain and enhance their skills around carer involvement
Requirements:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience working with non-statutory services and service user and carer groups in mental health
  • Demonstrable experience in transformation and service improvement practice

Estimated salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
